Spanish public institute running the Teide and Roque de los Muchachos observatories.

The Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, founded in 1975 in La Laguna, Tenerife, is Spain’s national astrophysics centre. It operates the Teide Observatory and Roque de los Muchachos Observatory, including the Gran Telescopio Canarias, and flies its own ALISIO-1 satellite with the DRAGO infrared camera. It is a public consortium of the Spanish state, the Canary Islands government, the University of La Laguna, and CSIC.
