Doctoral student in geodetic surveying with GNSS

Third-cycle subject: Geodesy and Geoinformatics
We are looking for a PhD student for the project Efficiency Improvement of Track
Measurements, funded by the Swedish Transport Administration. The main purpose of the project is to design and evaluate GNSS measurement methods that meet the requirements for determining track position. See more detailed project description here.
The PhD student will be placed at the Department of Land Surveying – Property Science and Geodesy and will collaborate with RISE and the Swedish Transport Administration, which are parties to the project. The candidate is expected to have good knowledge in geodesy (GNSS and reference systems), physics (propagation of electromagnetic signals) and mathematics (statistics).
Supervision: Prof. Milan Horemuz and a person at the Swedish Transport Administration is proposed to supervise the doctoral student. Decisions are made on admission
Admission requirements
To be admitted to postgraduate education (Chapter 7, 39 § Swedish Higher Education Ordinance), the applicant must have basic eligibility in accordance with either of the following:
passed a second cycle degree (for example a master's degree), or
completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 second-cycle higher education credits, or
acquired, in some other way within or outside the country, substantially equivalent knowledge
The candidate must have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, since it is required in the daily work.
The candidate must have a background in geodesy, technical physics or another relevant subject.
In addition to the above, there is also a mandatory requirement for English equivalent to English B/6.

Meritorious qualifications:
Work experience in the field of geodesy
Previous experience in academic publishing, participation in research projects and teaching
Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
Programming skills
After the qualification requirements, great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
