Space Electronics Engineer
About ORiS: ORiS provides wireless power transmission using high-precision pointing lasers. ORiS is recognized as NATO DIANA innovators, where defense-related activities involve in-flight recharging of drones. In the space market ORiS is working to implement an innovative in-orbit energy charging service aimed at satellites, with no retrofit required to receive the charging service. Energy is transferred from ORiS' satellites directly to the solar panels of customer satellites. This is made possible by ORiS' technology design, which has been validated in the laboratory and is on the path to validation in the space environment.
ORiS is a young and fast-growing startup with an enthusiastic team, committed to transforming how energy is delivered in aerospace and unmanned systems. As the company expands beyond 10 team members, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the creation of a new market in wireless power transmission.
About the job: We are looking for an Electronics Engineer to design and implement cutting-edge electronics and communication systems across multiple ambitious projects. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will develop your skills while contributing to groundbreaking space technologies. You will have end-to-end responsibility for the development of electronic systems, collaborating closely with optical, mechanical, and space systems engineers to create solutions for new prototypes and products. Projects will range from payloads for in-orbit demonstrations to terrestrial prototypes that advance our key technologies.
Role description: Your will lead the design, development, and integration of electrical systems for diverse projects. Your responsibilities will span multiple aspects of applied electronics and electrical engineering, including hardware development (PCBs, electrical systems), software, hardware-in-the-loop testing, instrumentation & controls, system tests, power systems, communication systems, and systems engineering.
