SKA Mid- Acceptance and Compliance Technician
The SKA Observatory (SKAO) is a next-generation radio astronomy facility that will revolutionise our understanding of the Universe and the laws of fundamental physics. Enabled by cutting-edge technology, it promises to have a major impact on society, in science and beyond.
In South Africa, the SKAO is collaborating with SARAO to operate and support the construction of the mid frequency telescope (SKA-Mid) in remote Karoo region.
The SKA-Mid Acceptance and Compliance Technician will be responsible for ensuring and establishing the SKA-Mid quality specifications and ensuring that goods and services received meet the quality specifications at the SKA-Mid facilities at Science Operations Centre (SOC) in Cape Town and the Engineering Operations Centre (EOC) in Klerefontein, Carnarvon, Northern Cape. Frequent travel between the two sites will be required. This may also include checking and testing materials and parts delivered from external suppliers.
