EUSPA Overview
The European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) provides safe, secure, and innovative satellite navigation and communication services for Europe. EUSPA advances the commercialisation of Galileo, EGNOS, Copernicus data and services, and secure SATCOM (GOVSATCOM & IRIS²). The agency also operates the Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) Front-Desk, supporting European autonomy in space technologies and innovation.

Security Operations and Monitoring Department (SOM)
The SOM department ensures security operations, monitoring, and cyber-defense for the Union Space Programme. The role involves frequent missions to Madrid, Noordwijk, Brussels, Prague, and other locations.
2. Tasks and Responsibilities
Primary Duties
Security Monitoring and Detection: Monitor security and system status, triage alerts, and propose actions (SOC Tier 1).
Security Incident Response: Investigate incidents, coordinate responses, and escalate as needed (SOC Tier 2).
Governmental Services: Contribute to the provision of governmental services, including PRS (Public Regulated Service).
Key Tasks
Security Monitoring and Incident Handling:
Monitor the security and system status of the Union Space Programme components.
Register, triage, and analyze security alerts.
Handle and investigate potential security incidents.
Incident Escalation and Crisis Management:
Contribute to recommendations for service continuity.
Support crisis management and implement instructions from authorities.
Continuous Improvement and Operational Readiness:
Review and update incident handling procedures.
Investigate SOC/service degradations.
Support the development and improvement of SOC operations.
Support and Coordination Activities:
Ensure timely execution of governmental services.
Liaise with other EUSPA departments for corporate tasks.
Work Schedule
24/7 shift and stand-by duty roster.
3. Eligibility Criteria
Education: University degree (3+ years) or equivalent.
Nationality: EU, Icelandic, or Norwegian citizen.
Language Proficiency: C1 level in one EU language, B2 level in another.
Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to perform the duties.
4. Selection Criteria
Professional Experience
Experience in security monitoring, alert triage, or incident handling in a SOC or similar environment.
Operational experience in cyber defense, system administration, or network management.
Experience working in 24/7 shifts or on-call environments.
Financial, procurement, or contract management experience is a plus.

7. Summary of Conditions of Employment
Financial Entitlements
Basic salary + allowances (expatriation, shift, household, dependent child).
Net salary examples (France, FG IV):
Less than 5 years: €4,264.98–€7,209.93/month.
5–17 years: €4,480.40–€7,840.27/month.
