PR Editor for Science Communication
DYNAVERSE – Our Dynamic Universe is a Cluster of Excellence at the University of Bonn, investigating the physical processes that shape the universe across timescales from milliseconds to billions of years. The cluster is now hiring a PR Editor to shape and grow its science communication, permanently and full-time.
🔠About the role
You'll take the lead on communicating a major international research project — strategically, creatively, and operationally:
Developing and executing a clear communication strategy for DYNAVERSE
Conceiving and running communication campaigns
Editing and producing high-quality content (text, images, video)
Managing and growing the online presence (website and social media)
Handling press relations on current research
Advising researchers on communication and outreach
Planning events for scientific and public audiences, and coordinating with schools and partner organizations
Coordinating with the participating institutions' central outreach offices
📋 Your Profile
Master's or PhD in astrophysics or physics (a doctorate is welcome but not required); candidates from other natural sciences, or with a background in science journalism/communication, are also encouraged to apply
Experience in science communication or science journalism (e.g. via internship or professional work)
Excellent storytelling and the ability to tailor communication to different audiences
Ability to make complex content clear and engaging
Fluent German and English
Initiative, creativity, and enthusiasm for an international environment
💰 Compensation & Contract
Pay grade: TV-L EG 13
