Mechanical engineer (Internship)

Job Description
At Aldoria, the Optical Systems team is responsible for the design and fabrication of advanced optical systems. As part of a vertical integration strategy, Aldoria develops its own production systems, including telescopes and cameras.

Key Responsibilities

1. Optical System Design

• Mechanical and optical design of systems for Aldoria’s SSA (Space Situational Awareness) network

• Simulation of mechanical and optical systems in operational conditions

2. Prototype Fabrication

• Supplier management

• Manufacturing of optical systems

3. Optical System Qualification

• Design and fabrication of optical benches

• Testing and characterization in laboratory environments

• Testing and characterization in operational environments

Internship Mission
The intern will contribute to the development of a simulation environment to validate the mechanical structure of Aldoria’s telescopes. This includes:

• Studying the mechanical behavior of telescopes on their mounts

• Evaluating key performance indicators for telescope qualification

• Developing scripts (Python preferred) to convert simulation results for comparison with physical and optical parameters

Required Skills

• CAD and simulation tools (SolidWorks, Simulia)

• Programming knowledge (Python is a plus but not mandatory)
