Geospatial Data Analyst / EO Production Specialist
Job Description:
You will work at the interface of satellite data processing, land monitoring, and spatial analysis. Embedded in a multidisciplinary technical team, you will facilitate the operational delivery of Earth Observation (EO)-based geospatial products and services for international clients.
Key Tasks:
Execute and monitor large-area geospatial production workflows, processing multi-sensor satellite imagery to meet delivery schedules and client specifications.
Perform visual interpretation and thematic classification of optical satellite imagery to produce and update land cover mapping products in line with Copernicus Land Monitoring Service standards.
Develop and maintain Python scripts and GDAL-based tools to automate geospatial data processing tasks within a shared version-controlled codebase.
Integrate new processing methods and containerized workflows into operational production pipelines.
Conduct spatial accuracy assessments and quality checks, document non-conformances, and contribute to technical reporting for clients.
Profile Requirements:
Proven experience with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS) for spatial analysis, land cover mapping, and multi-product geospatial production workflows.
Strong visual interpretation skills for optical satellite imagery (Sentinel-2, VHR), including change detection and thematic classification.
Familiarity with EO data formats (GeoTIFF) and processing tools (GDAL/OGR, rasterio), with proficiency in command-line operations and Python.
Experience with batch processing workflows and managing deliverables under operational deadlines.
Knowledge of Copernicus Land Monitoring Service is advantageous.
Ability to perform spatial accuracy assessments, document non-conformances, contribute to technical reporting, and familiarity with containerization (Docker) and version control systems (GitLab, Bitbucket).
