ArianeGroup is the 50/50 Airbus and Safran joint venture that designs and builds European launchers. It is prime contractor for Ariane 6 and for France's M51 submarine-launched ballistic missile, with sites in France and Germany. The company was formed in 2015 as Airbus Safran Launchers and employs about 8,700 people.
